General
Which AI services are supported?
Claude Tuner tracks usage for Claude (Pro, Max 5x, Max 20x, Team, Enterprise), ChatGPT (Plus, Pro), and Gemini (Advanced).
Is Claude Tuner free?
Yes, completely free for all features including the team dashboard, email reports, plan simulation, and insights. There are no paid tiers or premium plans.
What data do you collect?
Only usage percentages, reset timestamps, and plan information. We never read your conversations, messages, or files. See our Privacy Policy for full details. The extension source code is also open source.
Does it work on Firefox, Edge, or Arc?
Currently Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Arc, Brave) are supported. Arc users may see the popup instead of the side panel — this is normal. Firefox is not supported at this time.
Does it support API usage tracking?
No. Claude Tuner tracks usage for the web-based AI services (claude.ai, chatgpt.com, gemini.google.com). API token usage from the Anthropic/OpenAI API console is not supported as it uses a different billing and metering system.
Is it open source?
Yes, the extension source code is publicly available at github.com/chaehyun2/claudetuner (MIT license). Security audits and contributions are welcome.
Data Collection
How does data collection work?
The extension reads your usage percentage from the AI service's internal API when you visit the site. It runs automatically every 10 minutes and also collects instantly when you open a supported site. You can also click "Collect" in the popup to force a manual collection.
My usage data isn't updating or shows 0%
Try these steps in order:
- Make sure you're logged in to both the extension (Google sign-in) and the AI service (claude.ai, chatgpt.com, etc.)
- Visit the AI service website in a tab — data collection requires an active tab
- Click "Collect" in the extension popup to force collection
- If using a company/work account, check that the correct Chrome profile is active
- Try signing out and back in to the extension
My plan shows incorrectly (e.g., Free shows as Pro, or vice versa)
Claude Tuner detects your plan directly from the AI service's API. If you recently changed your plan (upgraded, downgraded, or cancelled), visit the AI service website and click "Collect" in the popup. The plan will update automatically. If a refunded plan still shows the old plan, force-collect after the refund is processed.
Can I change the collection interval?
Yes, go to the extension's Settings page. You can set intervals from 5 to 30 minutes. Note: this setting may reset to the default (10 minutes) after extension updates.
Server responded with 500 / Collection failed
This usually means the extension successfully read your usage from the AI service, but failed to save it to our server. This is typically a temporary server issue. Try again in a few minutes. If persistent, contact us.
Accounts & Login
My Claude/ChatGPT email is different from my Google login email
You can link your AI service email to your Claude Tuner account. Go to Dashboard → Settings → "Link Claude Account" and enter your AI service email. A verification email will be sent to confirm ownership. Once linked, usage data collected from that email will appear in your dashboard.
I have multiple Claude accounts (personal + work)
Claude Tuner supports multiple organizations per account. If you use the same email for both:
- The dashboard sidebar will show organization chips — select each one to view its usage
- Option 1: Use separate Chrome profiles, each signed into Claude Tuner with different Google accounts
- Option 2: Link both emails to one Claude Tuner account via Settings → Link Claude Account
How do I delete my account?
Go to Dashboard → Settings → scroll to the bottom → Delete Account. All your data will be permanently removed from our servers. If you're still receiving emails after deletion, contact us and we'll resolve it immediately.
I deleted my account and want to rejoin
Simply sign in again with the extension. A new account will be created. Note: your previous usage history and team memberships will not be restored. You'll need to be re-invited to any teams.
Dashboard login keeps redirecting / won't sign in
This can happen if your account was previously deleted or if cookies are blocked.
- Clear your browser cookies for claudetuner.com
- Make sure third-party cookies are not blocked for the dashboard
- Try signing in via the extension popup first, then open the dashboard
Team Dashboard
How do I create a team and invite members?
Go to Dashboard → Team tab → Create Organization.
- Domain auto-invite: Enable this to automatically add anyone who signs up with your company email domain (e.g., @company.com)
- Manual invite: Share the invite link or add members by email from the Team → Members tab
Team members show as "unknown" or "Pending"
- Unknown: The member hasn't installed the extension yet, or the extension hasn't collected data. Ask them to install and visit the AI service at least once.
- Pending: The member was invited by email but hasn't accepted yet. They need to sign in to the extension and visit the dashboard to accept the invitation.
How do I turn off the auto-join setting?
Only organization admins can change this. Go to Team Dashboard → Settings tab → toggle "Auto-join from extension" off. If you're not an admin, ask your organization admin to change it.
Can I change the organization name?
Yes. Go to Team Dashboard → Settings tab → Edit Organization Info. Only admins can change the organization name.
I switched from Personal to Team plan — how do I update?
The plan is detected automatically from the AI service. Simply visit the AI service website and click "Collect" in the popup. If the old plan persists, sign out of the extension and sign back in.
What does the "Training Data ON" badge mean?
This badge indicates that the AI service's account settings allow your conversations to be used for model training. Claude Tuner reads this setting from the AI service's API — to change it, update the setting directly in your AI service account (e.g., Claude.ai → Settings → Privacy).
Daily report emails are in the wrong language
Email language is determined by your dashboard language setting. Go to Dashboard → Settings and change your preferred language. The next email will use the updated language.
Troubleshooting
Dashboard shows "No data yet"
Usage data syncs to the server automatically. It may take up to 10 minutes after your first visit to an AI service. Check that you're signed in with the same Google account in both the extension and the dashboard. If using multiple organizations, select the correct one from the sidebar chip strip.
Extension crashes when opening Settings
Try updating the extension to the latest version (Chrome may delay auto-updates). Go to
chrome://extensions → enable Developer mode → click "Update". If the issue persists, try removing and reinstalling the extension.I still receive emails after account deletion
This should not happen. If it does, please contact us immediately and we'll permanently remove all traces of your account. We take this seriously and will resolve it within 24 hours.
Team tab is missing from the dashboard
The Team tab only appears if you belong to an organization. Create one from Dashboard → Team → Create Organization, or ask your team admin to invite you. Also try clearing your browser cache and refreshing.
What IP addresses should I allowlist for my company network?
Claude Tuner runs on Cloudflare's global infrastructure and doesn't use fixed IP addresses. If your company requires IP allowlisting, you'll need to allowlist Cloudflare's IP ranges, or allowlist the domain
claudetuner.com directly.Contact Us
